2022 Recap & Notable Performances
This year featured not only testing, drills, and matches, but dunk and three point contests sponsored by Solestory.se.
We saw high level competition, and a field of players who almost all can compete at the next level; from experienced 2022’s to a talented field of 2023’s and 2024’s, college coaches inquired about many players—some even receiving contact and/or offers within a week!
Another new aspect was the inclusion of American prep schools to the watchlist, along with a few attending in-person. We hope to continue this trend and offer opportunities for not only college, but high school/prep options for players who might have that ambition.
Overall, I am immensely pleased with year two of the Get Recruited project in Sweden. We have and will continue to provide a platform for talented players to showcase their game in front of REAL college coaches and scouts and compete for scholarships. I am also very pleased to announce a partnership with the Latvian Basketball Federation, and we plan to expand and host an additional showcase there next year. Notable performances
6’5” G/F Tilda Trygger (2024) RIG Luleå
The top female HS prospect in Sweden again showed why she’s going to be so highly sought after. Trygger is a lethal combination of size and versatility–In addition to making her presence known in the games with scoring, rebounding, and playmaking, she also won the 3pt contest at the showcase… At 6’5”, she’s able to get her shot off at will against guards, and her length and athleticism presents a matchup nightmare for more traditional forwards and centers.
5’7” PG Saga Eklöv (2023) Norrköping Dolphins
The top pure point guard of the day, she controlled the pace in every game she played in. In addition, we saw reliable range, solid finishing ability, and a creative playmaker who produced scoring opportunities for her teammates. Even in a showcase, it was clear that she can run a team, competes, and was the type of floor general that coaches love.
6’1” SG/SF Tove Caesar (2023) RIG Luleå
One of the top performers on the wing, Tove showed out as one of the most dangerous shooters at the showcase, hitting multiple threes in each game. She also displayed solid vision making plays for teammates, as well as the ability to get to the basket. Defensively she has a motor and was able to guard multiple positions, both on the perimeter as well as inside.
6’1” SF Lourdes Silva Da Costa (2025) RIG Mark
Perhaps the most the impressive athlete of the bunch, she was a constant threat to attack the basket with an array of power finishes, spin moves, and floaters. Range isn’t an issue either, as she complimented the drives with the ability and willingness to knock down a flurry of mid-range shots and threes. Her frame an athleticism allows her to guard multiple positions; additionally, she showed off her motor and rebounded the ball aggressively on both ends.
6’2” F/C Edessa Noyan (2023) Södertälje BBK
One of the standout inside players of the day, she showed off impressive shot blocking and rebounding instincts all day. On offense she operated with confidence inside, and impressive flashes of newly added range. She was also extremely vocal and was noticeably competitive, even standing up when she was on the bench to cheer on and hype teammates. The combination of size, toughness and skill is something that demands a look.
6’1” F Ellinor Demnert (2022) Norrort Basket
A solid mix of size and versatility, she showed the ability to thrive both on the wing and inside, with a mix of shooting, driving, and facilitating on display at the showcase. She defended multiple positions and scored in a number of ways on offense. Would surely be a great late pickup for someone in need of a tough, skilled, utility player.
6’0” PG Mikai Klintman (2023) RIG Mark
The cousin of Swedish standouts Bobi (Wake Forest) and Ibbe Klintman (Central Arkansas) again showed why he’s a force of his own—the electric playmaker was easily the most explosive athlete on the floor, showing off the ability to cause havoc for 94 feet on defense and push the pace on the other end. He distributes the ball at an elite level and finishes in a number of ways, but also showed a much improved 3-ball and willingness to pull-up. He controlled the pace in each of his games, and was a difference maker in various ways; his motor, toughness and playmaking ability make him an intriguing prospect for people in search of a dynamic PG.
6’7” SG/SF Herman Kihlman (2023) Högsbo Basket
One of the standouts on the wing, Herman showed off a consistent jumper, both off the catch as well as the bounce. He also displayed a number of crafty, physical drives to the basket, confirming his status as a three-level scorer. Physically he was agile enough to defend wing players but possesses the frame and strength to defend the 4-spot if necessary. Even in games where his shot wasn’t falling as often as normal, the skillset and ability to create quality shots was undeniable.
6’9” F/C Anton Politis (2022) Nässjö Basket
A refreshingly more traditional big, Politis was a constant threat in the post during the showcase. He displayed a solid back to the basket game, utilizing a super soft touch around the rim and a jump hook that defenders couldn’t stifle. His willingness to bang was complimented well by a consistent mid-range jumper; in both face-ups and pick and pop situations he wasn’t hesitant to shoot it. Also rebounded and defended in the post at a strong level.
6’6” SG/SF Ademar Santos (2023) KFUM Central Basket
The long, athletic swingman’s offensive package was on full display at the showcase, including a consistent 3-point stroke paired with explosive attacks to the basket. To put his versatility in perspective, he won the dunk contest but was also one of the most consistent shooters of the day. A late bloomer in a good way, he has reclassified to 2023 and will surely have time to get on people’s radar.
6’5” PG/SG Eddie Hedqvist (2024) Fryshuset Basket
The tall young guard is perhaps one of the most dynamic prospects we saw at the showcase—he displayed a solid feel, and a healthy mix of scoring and playmaking ability. He was also one of the most engaged, vocal players all day, communicating on the floor at a high level as well as supporting his teammates. His mid-range pull up game stood out immediately, but he also showed the ability to knock down threes and create for others. He was certainly one of the more impressive distributors at our showcase—with his size and length, it’s a skill that translates well to the next level.
6’4” PG Noel Slivackis (2022) VEF BA Valka (Latvia)
The Latvian guard showed off a well-rounded game, pairing solid shooting and crafty, physical attacks with a high basketball IQ and noticeable grit and toughness when it came to guarding people. He made plays for others, but also did a good job of choosing when to be aggressive—even in a showcase, he displayed the willingness to make the right play, whether it was making a read that led to someone else’s shot or creating one for himself.
